PITTSBURGH – The Bombers remained perfect at this weekend’s
Carnegie-Mellon Crossover with a 3-1 (27-30, 30-24, 30-24, 30-28) win over
Heidelberg. Ithaca improves to 13-4 on the season.
Sophomore
Mary Schaefer (Eden/Eden) set a career-high in digs for the third straight match, with 17 in the four games. Also setting career-highs were sophomores
Amanda Hubbard (Horseheads/Horseheads) with four aces,
Casey Buss (Barnstable/Yarmouthport, Mass.) with four aces, and
Andria Mynders (Minisink Valley/Port Jervis) with 23 kills for the team-lead.
Hubbard also notched 17 kills and a team-leading 21 digs. Tying a career-high for the Bombers was senior
Andrea Blitz (Webster/Webster) with 15 kills.
Ithaca’s bid to stay unbeaten in this weekend’s tournament will be tested by
Gettysburg at 2 p.m. The Bombers are 1-0 against Gettysburg this season.
